Penn State University researchers revealed that , while Signing up for the 3rd party apps on Facebook , most of the users are unaware that these Apps can breach over their privacy settings to make them Public and spread and share them across the Globe !
Heng Xu , Assistant professor of information science and technology said that ,"One illusion is that people think that they have set global privacy settings, so it's secure .
But the broken element is in the third-party applications that people use to play games and interact in different ways with each other on Facebook "
At present while using or signing up for any APP , A general request page Pop-ups and shows the basic things and info that the developers of the 3rd party apps are requesting and if you don't agree than you can not sign up for that Facebook App .
Now what the US Researchers have done that they have made the sign up page such that it makes it a complete user choice to make it clearly visible what users want to share with the 3rd party apps , with what things they are comfortable with sharing to public and what they do not want .
This can be seen as one of the steps to improve the talk going around the recent bleaches in the security of the world's largest social networking site Facebook .
