Check complete CPU,Intel Processor, Version and Details used in your Windows OS

In this article i would tell you how to discover and find out details of the Processor used in your Laptops / Desktops and know Frequency Test , CPU Technologies and CPUID Data tab giving complete details about your CPU. Most of you would simply move to My Computer- Right Click- Check Properties and would be satisfied with the details provided over there, But do you know that you can further know and gather more information about your system via 2 Simple methods. In our first method we would Install Intel Processor Identification Utility and in second method we would use a simple command to get ourselves going.

2) There will be many versions listed there, Choose which Language you want and download accordingly.
3) The download would start and after installation is complete, RUN it.
4) You will see Frequency Test , CPU Technologies and CPUID Data tabs as shown in image below.

We will first explain Frequency Test Tab. The Tab would give you details about Expected and Reported Speed & Bus Speed.  It will also provide details about Reported L3 Cache memory.

Next we will head on CPU Technologies Tab where we will see details about whether the system supports advanced technologies like Intel Virtualization Technology, Intel Hyper-Threading Technology and the Intel 64-Architecture. You can click on the Information tab as well to see explanation of each technology mentioned.

After that we will move on to the CPUID Data Tab which would give details in Processor Classification which includes CPU Type, CPU Family, CPU Model, CPU Stepping& CPU Revision. Level 3, Level 2, Level 1 Data& instruction caches are also presented in Processor details. Apart from that information regarding other processor features Execute Disable Bit& Enhanced Halt State are also provided.

Using msinfo32


The other way is using msinfo32 . Simply type msinfo32 in the search box/run box and press Enter. You will get the following screen. You can get logical details of your Intel based processor from there.

These 2 are great, safe and accurate ways to determine every single piece of information about your Processor. The Intel Processor Identification Utility is provided from intel itself, and is very small in download size. Simply download, install and run it to get all details about your processor.
